German Level 1
Our introductory German course (level A1) is ideal for students without any prior knowledge of the language. You will cover units 1 through 5 of Themen Aktuell 1 (included in your course fee), an excellent textbook that includes a workbook and both an audio CD and a multimedia disk. You will learn words and structures for the following themes: first meetings, the home, eating and drinking, free time, and daily life. Grammar topics include: questions, imperatives, accusative case, present-tense conjugations, articles, negation, possessives, modal verbs, and pronouns.
German Level 2
The second level course continues with units 6-10 of Themen Akteull 1. The themes explored in these units are: health, everyday life, getting around a city, shopping and gift-giving, German language and culture. Grammar topics include: possessives, more modal verbs, singular and plural nouns, perfect tense, prepositions, comparatives, dative case, comparative and superlative forms, and genitive case.
German Level 3
Our third level course (A2) begins with a review of the grammar and vocabulary covered in the first two levels. The textbook is Themen Aktuell 2 (included in your course fee), and lessons 1-5 are covered. The themes explored in these units are: appearance and personality, school and professions, conversation and television, industry and business, family and personal relationships. Grammar topics include articles, preterite forms of modals, reflexive structures, relative clauses, Konjunktiv II, passive voice, comparatives, and the infinitive.
Payment and registration must be received before the registration deadline. Books and materials are included within the course tuition.
